How is the nitrate in well water used in CropManage?

CropManage can account for nitrate in well water when calculating the nitrogen fertilizer recommendation.   CropManage estimates how much nitrogen is applied based on the volume of water applied (inches)  and the concentration of N (Nitrate-N) in the irrigation water.   The formula for estimating N applied in irrigation water is:  lbs N/acre = inches of applied water x N concentration of the water (ppm) x 0.227
